Oktoberfest comes to Torre del Mar

BEER will be the flavour of the weekend as the Bavarian gastronomy festival comes to Torre del Mar

From 11 to 12 October, the streets of Tore del Mar will be transformed into a food and beers lovers paradise with authentic European cuisine mixing with the best of German ales.

As a novelty this year, local establishments will be enlisted to produce a traditional German dish to supply to the festival, giving visitors a true taste of the German roots the festival is based upon.

Councillor for Tourism of the City of Velez-Malaga, Jesus Perez Atencia, announced the 2019 event on Tuesday morning stating, “This year, the event with include music, good atmosphere and typical cuisine, which for the first time will have a special role in all participating establishments.”

Deputy Mayor Carmen Gonzalez added, “This is an initiative that has a very positive impact on our merchants and entrepreneurs. That is why from the Department of Tourism we believe that such initiatives have an added value, which is to involve all businesses in the area.”

Accompanying the gastronomic delights will be live musical performances from the areas best reggae, dance and flamenco artists.
