A 38-YEAR-OLD man was seriously injured in a hit and run accident in Javea.

The man, a gardener who had just finished his day’s work, was run down in Calle Alberto Durero in the Pinosol area.

The woman motorist, who did not have a driving licence, was driving what witnesses described as “a large car.”

She tried to drive off after hitting the man, hitting another car in an unsuccessful attempt to flee but was arrested at the scene.

The victim was taken to Denia hospital with multiple injuries but owing to the gravity of his condition was transferred to a hospital in Valencia City.
