WOWING bloggers with Almeria´s attractions.
This was the aim of a provincial government Tourism Service-organised trip for a group of Spanish travel bloggers and journalists as a way of getting the message out about the many reasons for visiting Almeria to as wide an audience as possible.
The trip took the group all over the province with a view to highlighting the variety of visitor options along the coast and inland, from the more obvious tourist stuff to the natural landscapes and the province’s industry.
Highlights included the museums of Terque, the Tabernas solar power platforms, areas used as locations for the movie Exodus, Lubrín, Mojacar, Lucainena, the remains of Bedar’s mining activities and the Sorbas caves.
These kinds of gatherings are a fantastic opportunity to spread the word about the quality of our Costa de Almeria destination”, commented Diputacion de Almeria Tourism Deputy Fernando Gimenez.
The deputy described tourism as “an indispensable source of wealth and generator of employment for the whole province”, adding this was especially so for smaller municipalities and was a way of helping to combat depopulation.
These professionals have had the opportunity to get inside the skin of a curious and eager tourist”, Gimenez continued, saying that was what their readers expected of them, allowing them to “capture the sensations from the experience of visiting our province.”
