Motril police foil bar robbery

THE Policia Local of Motril have arrested a man after they caught him red handed during a robbery of a local bar.

Police were tipped off after a neighbour heard suspicious noises coming from the well known establishment on Calle Santisimo.

Once officers arrived, the noticed a window had been forced open. Officers alerted the bar owner who arrived to allow the officers access through the main door.

The thief was found wearing all black clothing, hiding in a store cupboard to the rear of the property.

According to the police report, the bar was a mess and two fruit machines had been forced open to gain access to the takings. The thief was also found with a bag of tools used in the robbery.

He was arrested and now awaits an appearance before the magistrate.
