The Unemployed On State Benefits Could Be Called Up

Spanish cabinet ministers approved last Friday the Royal Decree regarding compensation for natural disasters, but aside from financial funding the Town Hall are allowed to stipulate and request that all people receiving state benefits for unemployment benefit be deployed to assist with the cleanup, failure to attend can see benefits ceased.

The unemployed benefit receivers would be expected to take social collaboration with either public administrative bodies or with non-profit making organizations.

The Town Hall if they implement the possible measure they have at their means, would ensure the unemployed would have to comply to continue receiving unemployment benefits.

The conditions are that firstly the “called up benefit receiving person” must be of physical aptitude whilst they must live within easy travelling distance of the area they would be required to work.

So far the Town Halls of Murcia or Alicante have shown an interest in the option but it’s interesting to note that the option is available.

Could you imagine this scenario back in Britain?
