ELCHE had a royal visit when Queen Letizia took part in the opening of the academic course of Professional Training at the Severo Ochoa Secondary School.
She shared a few moments with students of Marketing and Computer science. In the whole country, a total of 862,000 students have enrolled in these courses, 23,000 more than the previous year (2.8 per cent higher), according to the Ministry.
The school visited by the Queen offers attendance and semi-attendance Vocational Training courses for 600 students aged 16 and over, in a range of subjects including Computer Science and Administration and Finance.
The delegation, which included the Minister of Education, Isabel Celaá, was received by the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig.
The Queen held a working meeting with members of the educational community and representatives of companies that have links with the centre.
At the end of the meeting, the Queen visited first-year students who gave a presentation to her of the work they will be doing.
As she left the school, she ordered her car to stop and went on a royal walkabout amongst the 200 strong crowd who had gathered to see her, shaking hands and having selfies taken with her.
