The Widower Of Murdered MP Jo Cox hit out on Twitter
He tweeted “Feel a bit sick at Jo’s name being used in this way. The best way to honour Jo is for all of us (no matter our views) to stand up for what we believe in, passionately and with determination. But never to demonise the other side and always hold onto what we have in common.”
The tweet came after last nights commons debates and the Prime Ministers statement.
The murdered MP’s name was brought up in the commons by Labour MP Paula Sheriff who referred to Ms Cox saying MPs faced death threats from people using “similar language” of that of the Prime Ministers.
Ms Cox was killed by a right-wing extremist days before the EU referendum in 2016.
Boris Johnson replied with “the best way to honour the late MP was to get Brexit done”
He further went on to dismiss Sheriff intervention as “humbug”.
Widower Brendan Cox went on to say “Boris Johnson was “sloppy” in saying the best way to honour the late MP was to get “Brexit done”, but he was not “an evil man”.
