ACTING on information from the USA’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Spanish police have arrested a student who led a massive child pornography operation.
The detainee is said to have exchanged a huge volume of child pornography files through instant messaging and social networking applications he had installed on his mobile phone.
In addition, he was the administrator of ‘secret’ groups that were highly valued by other paedophiles, to whom he demanded extreme conditions for their access, such as the sending of images of real incest.
The arrest was carried out as part of an operation against child pornography in which seven other people were arrested in Barcelona (2), A Coruña (1), Alicante (1), Castellon (1) and Madrid (2), three other people have so far been charged and a child in Malaga has been taken into protection.
One of those arrested in Madrid in addition to downloading child pornography publicly exhibited it to hundreds of people through a well-known social network to apparently get more likes.
In the course of the investigation, the police managed to find out that three people were sharing child pornography over the Internet from Barcelona. This led them to the 28-year-old student in Sevilla.
He was an expert in accessing different places on the so called Dark Web for the exchange of child pornography, being the administrator of various secret groups.
The detainee acted as an instructor for other foreign paedophiles, giving precise instructions on what security measures they should take to avoid police attention.
