RINCON de la Victoria born athlete Rubén Ruzafa has taken victory in the XTerra triathlon of Kunming, China.
The Axarquian travelled to China to compete in the gruelling event last Sunday 22 September against some of the worlds best athletes.
The XTerra Kunming course sits at an average altitude of 2,000 meters and includes a 1.5-kilometre lake swim, a 30-kilometre, two-loop MTB, and a 10-kilometre, two-lap run along beautiful lakefront trails.
Rufaza took to social media to explain about the event, “It was an experience to remember, I had very good moments in Kunming and I’m eager to return to Asia to compete.”
“The race went very well, my rivals took the lead by a few meters in the transition but I was able to gain it back quickly and start to put in time. I got to T2 with a two minute lead, but I kept pushing to make sure I didn’t get caught,” he continued”
