FOLLOWING an outcry from parents, Alfaz’s Instituto high school will retain its usual timetable.
The regional government’s Education department announced last June that 200 pupils would have to attend the school between 3pm and 9pm to solve the over-crowding problem.
Parents responded with a petition and a demonstration, demanding an immediate reversal of the decision and a more viable solution.
The town hall has now remodelled the Instituto’s music room, laboratories and other areas in the school to provide six more classrooms and the Generalitat has agreed that the timetable can return to normal.
