MARINA BOLEROS present a programme of classic boleros on Saturday, October 5. The group of Marina Alta and Marina Baja singers and musicians are dedicated to keeping alive the bolero, a genre that dominated 20th century popular music and has been rediscovered by younger generations. The Marinaboleros repertoire includes Celosa, Quizas, Mar y Cielo with guitars, lutes and bandurrias – similar to a mandolin – accompanying the singers. Their Auditorium concert at 8pm on October 5 has been organised by the the Asociacion Familiares Alzheimer Teulada-Moraira, the support group which assists the families of those with Alzheimer’s. Tickets, which are a €10 donation, are obtainable at the Auditorium box office and the Alzheimer’s Day Centre in Teulada-Moraira as well as Optica Giner in Benissa.
