A NEW stretch of the ‘Senda Litoral’ coastline footpath has been opened in Estepona.
Joining the urbanisations Villas Andaluzas and Alcazaba Beach, it is 300 metres long and 3.5 metres wide.
The cost – which has not been disclosed – has been borne by the town council and the adjacent urbanisations.
The new stretch was inaugurated last Thursday by councillors and members of the public with a walk.
Works for another stretch of 800 metres between the river Padron and Dominion Beach, will be put out to tender in a few weeks and are scheduled to be completed before spring.
The coastal corridor project has so far managed to connect almost 80 per cent of the coast of Estepona, which means more than 18 kilometres is linked by pedestrian paths, with the remaining five kilometres scheduled to be completed before the end of next year.
