A SPANIARD wanted by China on financial charges has been arrested in Malaga.
The 41-year-old man is accused of misappropriating 1.7 million CNY (€218,000) worth of policies while working as financial director of an insurance company in China.
Police tracked him down to Calle Schubert in Malaga, where he was formally identified and a warrant for his arrest issued by the Chinese authorities was executed.
According to the warrant, the fugitive took advantage of his position as financial director between February 1, 2011 and April 30, 2012, to misappropriate the policies which he could later cash in.
Finally, on April 13, 2013, he took a flight from Beijim airport to Spain, where he disappeared.
He has now been put at the disposal of Spain’s High Court for extradition proceedings.
