Traffic accidents have fallen by 3 per cent compared to 2017, despite the fact that the number of registered cars have increased, according to recent statistics released from Fuengirola Town Hall.

The latest data reveals that 6 out of 10 people now own a car in Fuengirola – that’s an increase of 4.45 per cent cars in circulation compared to 2017, confirmed the Councillor for Mobility, Isabel González.

Despite the increase in the number of vehicles in the city, 20 fewer traffic-related accidents were recorded in 2018 (approximately 622), compared to 644 reported in 2017. The good news is that despite the increase in vehicles registered in Fuengirola, plus the increase in vehicles from other municipalities, we have fewer reported traffic accidents,” stated González.
