IT was a work titled ‘Shower of Stars’ which shone brightest at Vera’s first graffiti competition.
Alex Arias Avila really impressed the judges for capturing the essence of childhood as the competition required, as well as for his technique and attention to detail.
The Vera artist and art teacher, who has for some years been running workshops and courses for all ages, was rewarded for his creativity with a €200 prize. The competition runner-up got €100.
The council had organised the initiative to coincide with the Vera San Cleofas festival. Childhood and Youth councillor Ana Lourdes Ramirez explained participants were invited to create a work of urban wall art in the Youth Department area of the El Palmeral fairground which housed a play centre for children during the midday celebrations.
The councillor thanked all the participants for their “great work”.
