Locals lined the streets to thank both the Spanish Military & Emergency services of the Los Alcázares region.

After the recent storms, the clean up operation is now fully underway and yesterday saw how proud the locals of Los Alcázares were of both the Military and Emergency services who have been working night and day to return some form of normality to the region.

It was like a scene from a movie or news reel of soldiers coming home from war as thousands lined both sides of the streets for miles to clap and cheer their heroes.

Just days after the devastation the Military and Emergency services have been on duty 24/7 and the people of the area poured to the streets to show their appreciation in mass.

Clapping and cheering as well as many thumping their chests as the Military entourage passed down through the streets blazing their lights with sirens ringing out and horns blaring into the evening sunshine.

It was a very emotional occasion reducing many bystanders to tears.

Ex Pat Karen Turner who has lived locally for over 15 years since moving from Somerset simply stated on Facebook ” So deserved”

It clearly was a full demonstration of the the admiration and thanks everybody holds in their hearts at this present troubled time for many.
