Photographer tricked children into porn images in Spain

A PROFESSIONAL photographer has been arrested for allegedly tricking 43 children into creating pornographic material.

He offered on the Internet an “artistic collaboration” consisting of a free photo book, like the one made for professional models, and which was shot in a garage that served as a studio.

The parents of the girls signed a contract which included a clause stating that no nude photos would be taken.

But the parents were barred from the studio on the grounds that they would inhibit the models. The minors, who were between 14 and 18 years old, were not only photographed naked but also in sexualy explicit attire and poses, which police say can in no way be understood as artistic.

The parents never knew what had happened because the photos they received in exchange for the supposed artistic collaboration were not suggestive nor did they include nudes, but studio photos.

In addition, none of the children told their parents what had happened since, in most cases, they were not aware that they had been deceived and victims of a crime. Also, the girls who expressly asked to be given such photos never received them.

The investigation began in February 2018 following a complaint from one of the victims and her mother. Both said that the detainee had photographed the naked child in his studio without parental consent and that, in addition, he had refused to give her the photographs. They also told police there were several more victims.

After police arrested the photographer – a 52-year-old man from Gran Canaria – and searched his home.

The agents located abundant photographic material in the man’s home and several hard drives- those containing sexual images – hidden in a double bottom to a bed.

The investigation has been prolonged due to the large amount of photographic material that had to be sifted through.
