 Iconic singer Sir Rod Stewart who is used to stunning audiences around the world certainly stunned an audience last night as he revealed he has had prostate cancer and had been receiving treatment for 2 years.

Sir Rod then went onto explain, after being diagnosed 2 years ago, that he has fought the cancer, aided by two years of excellent treatment and now has been given the all clear.

Rod the mod as he’s been known in the music industry for decades and who was knighted in 2016 for his services to music and industry, revealed the news to a stunned audience at a special prostrate fund raiser alongside his “best mate” Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones, previously “The Small Faces” who Sir Rod was a part of many years ago.

The event for the revelation was held at the Wentworth Club in based in leafy Surrey, Sir Rod took to the stage in front of 500 people to say ” No one knows this but I think this is the time to tell everybody, I’ve had prostate cancer and I’m now in the clear – simply because I caught it early because I have so many tests”

The Father of 7 mission now is to raise the awareness about prostate cancer urging men wherever to take preliminary measures and to go for simple tests to prepare for or know early about any possible signs of the disease.

“Guys you really have to go to the Doctor and have a simple test” said Rod in his gravely well known dulcet tones, “if you are positive, and you work through it and keep a smile on your face …. I’ve worked for 2 years and I’ve just been happy and the good Lord looked after me”

Chirping back in his flamboyant cheeky way Ronnie Wood giving his pal support shouted ” someone up their likes us Rod!”  Ronnie himself recently faces lung cancer.
