The National Police have have informed the foreign office that there are new changes to the process when applying for or renewing residencia cards in Spain.
For British people that have renewed their passports since July this year they will have noticed that, in most cases, the “European Union” has been taken off of the front of the passport.
Prior to the official date of Brexit it is essential that you retain your old passport that says “European Union” on the front and present that, along with your new passport, to the foreign office in Spain.
These changes have been put it in place as it is illegal for the Spanish Authorities to issue an EU residency to a UK passport only.
