He’s awake! F1 legend Michael Schumacher reportedly ‘conscious’

MICHAEL Schumacher is ‘conscious’ following stem-cell treatment in a Paris hospital, a French newspaper claims.

According to Le Parisien the German Formula 1 legend has been undergoing treatment overseen by stem-cell expert Professor Philippe Menasche in the Georges Pompidou hospital in the French capital for the severe injuries he suffered in a skiing accident in 2013, which left him in a medially-induced coma for several months.

The French paper said this is the second time Schumacher has been to the hospital for the treatment.

Le Parisien claims to have spoken to a nurse at the hospital, who told the newspaper, “Yes he is in my service, and I can assure you that he is conscious.”

The publication also maintained former Ferrari chief Jean Todt discreetly visited Schumacher on Tuesday.

The former F1 driver’s management has not commented on the report and the hospital has not received any official statement on his current condition.

Schumacher has not been seen in public since the skiing accident.
