UK Parliament shuts down from tonight under suspension until October 14 Credit: Twitter
DOWNING Street has stated that Parliament will be suspended at the close of business today until October 14.
A spokesman for the Prime Minister has announced this morning that the suspension approved last week by The Queen will be implemented tonight.
This will mean no parliamentary committees or scrutiny will take place until Parliament resumes.
The decision to suspend Parliament sparked demonstrations outside Buckingham Palace and in London by pro-democracy marches.
