VIDEO: Taster of wild weather forecast this week…

THIS was the scene right outside the Euro Weekly News office in Albox earlier this evening. But it could be just a taster for the wild weather expected to hit many areas of Spain this week, especially the Mediterranean coast.

A cold snap coming in from Cantabria will cause temperatures to plummet in some parts and 27 provinces could be affected by heavy rain, storms and strong winds, among them Almeria, the AEMET State Meteorology Agency warned.

Barcelona and Girona are on maximum alert for torrential downpours of up to 90 litres over just an hour or so in the early hours of tonight.

Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera are on weather warning for major storms for Tuesday and again on Wednesday, along with the Valencian Community.

Cadiz, Granada, Malaga, Ceuta and Melilla are predicted to be battered by high coastal winds and waves of up to three metres later this week.

AEMET also cautioned there could be hailstorms and electrical storms in some regions,
