THE president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno has met with mayors and members of the Ministry of Developmentto try to come to a solution for the illegal status of over 300,000 homes in Andalucia. The meeting took place in Velez Malaga yesterday (Thursday) in an effort do put an end to the thousands of homes currently crippled under the beaurocratic nightmare of planning and building legislations. Moreno said that in collaboration with the Area of Land Management, they are working “to find a solution to this historic situation of illegal housing in Andalucia” which, as he said, “is not only a serious problem for many residents, but also a hindrance to the municipalities themselves, in their urban development,” He continued to explain that the current state of the complex bureaucratic tangle that currently has put a number of homes in a state of incompletion is due to the lack of due diligence by previous governments for decades. “Given the difficulty of the situation and the volume of families affected, in the action of the Andalucian Government are necessary boldness and courage to respond to different situations that may arise” he warned.
