ANTI-TOURISM protestors have once again taken to the streets to spray hateful slogans across buildings in Palma. Neighbours on Calle dels Olms in Palma woke up to fresh slogans such as “Tourists go home. Refugees welcome”, “Fora del barri Especuladors” (speculators out of the neighbourhood), and “Stop lloguer turistic” (holiday rental) sprayed on some of the buildings. By the end of the day, the council had painted over the graffiti but this is the latest in a series of graffiti protests across the island that are carried out by campaigners that believe the tourism in Mallorca is unsustainable and damaging to the environment as well as local culture.
