Two drivers were killed in a serious road collision on the A-7 at kilometre 258 in Rincon de la Victoria Monday 2 September .

It is thought a tyre blowout caused a large articulated lorry to cross the central reservation and collide with oncoming traffic.

The 112 emergency services received calls at around 6.15pm from eye witnesses of a heavy collision involving a large truck, a refrigeration truck and a motorcyclist as well as several cars.

According to reports, the lorry experienced a tyre blowout and entered the opposite lane, colliding with another vehicle and crushing a motorcyclist.

Emergency services fought on the scene to save the lives of the driver of the refrigeration lorry and the motorcyclist but they were pronounced dead on the scene. Several other people were transferred to hospital with varying degrees of injuries, including the driver of the articulated lorry.

The road was closed for a number of hours whilst the services cleared the scene and was eventually reopened at around 9pm.
