A GRANDMOTHER holidaying in Benidorm was reportedly forced to sleep in a toilet after being denied boarding on her flight home. Eileen Gibson, aged 75, was reportedly left with no choice but to sleep on a baby-changing table in the toilet at Alicante Airport after a row with Jet2 staff. The argument broke out over a ‘Fit to Fly’ certificate after she had been admitted to hospital for treatment for pancreatitis. Staff from Jet2 would not allow Eileen to board the plane to Edinburgh due to her stay in the hospital as she had failed to obtain the necessary certificate before heading home. As she was in pain and exhausted, Eileen locked herself in the disabled toilet at the airport and slept on a baby-changing table. Jet2 representatives are reported to have apologised to Eileen for the inconvenience.
