Boy dies after party in Torre del Mar

A 19-year-old boy has died following a party at a Sala de Fiestas in Torre del Mar according to police reports.

The young man from Barakaldo was at the party with his family when he collapsed after apparently disappearing to be with his friends to consume alcohol.

He was assisted immediately by a National Police officer and a nurse who were in the area, who performed CPR on the victim until emergency services arrived.

Local police sealed off the area and diverted traffic to allow the emergency services to access the scene outside the venue.

He was transferred to Regional Hospital of Axarquia after briefly finding a pulse in a critical condition; however he died shortly after in hospital.

According to friends, the young man had consumed several glasses of alcohol in the room and had smoked.
