A BARCELONA judge remanded a man who held up pharmacies at knifepoint but always apologised afterwards.
He gave himself up to the Mossos d’Esquadra regional police after holding up at least nine establishments in a fortnight in Barcelona, intimidating pharmacists and assistants with a knife while demanding the contents of the till.
There was nothing suspicious about his appearance, his victims told police afterwards, and he was well-mannered, apologising for the robbery before leaving.
He finally gave himself once the Mossos had identified him and gave himself up a police station in central Barcelona, accompanied by a lawyer.
