Cristiano Ronaldo is accused of raping a woman at a Las Vegas resort more than a decade ago.

In June 2009, alleged victim Kathryn Mayorga (former model) called cops to report she had been the victim of sexual assault. She refused to name her alleged attacker and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department closed the case after losing vital video evidence.

A civil settlement was reached between the two parties in 2010 but Mayorga asked the police to reopen the investigation in August 2018, naming Ronaldo as the offender. Kathryn Mayorga claims she took $375,000 of hush-money from Ronaldo back in 2010 as part of a private settlement — and has previously said she signed a confidentiality agreement vowing to remain quiet about the alleged incident. Her lawyers have said she was inspired to speak out and make her claim public by the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment.

Ronaldo has maintained that he is not guilty in regards to the ten-year-old sexual assault allegation that he raped a woman in a Las Vegas hotel in 2009. Ronald claims the money is not an admission of guilt, rather the cost of keeping a legal dispute out of the media.

“Based upon a review of the information presented at this time, the allegations of sexual assault against Cristiano Ronaldo cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt,” as stated by the District Attorney’s Office.

The civil lawsuit has been moved to a federal court.
