Property in Valez-Rubio being used for illegal drug sales

GUARDIA Civil are investigating six members of the same family after discovering a property in Velez-Rubio was being used for illegal drug sales.

The investigation, prompted in part by information gathered from local residents, revealed activities at the property increased considerably at the weekend.

There were constant comings and goings of people to buy drugs and a continual noise of cars, much to the concern of the neighbours, the Guardia Civil reported.

The Guardia said the six detainees were suspected of managing the drug supplies and sales, and were all part of the family which lived in the property.

A search of the premises resulted in the seizure of various amounts of illegal substances, including five grammes of marijuana, a gramme of cocaine and 40 grammes of hashish, as well as precision scales, a rifle and a lead truncheon.
