Barbecue fire in Palma

A FIRE broke out on the balcony of a 10th floor apartment on the Paseo Marítimo seafront promenade in Palma on Wednesday.

Firefighters from Sa Teulera fire station were called to the fire that was said to be caused by a barbecue at 5.45 pm and the fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished.

Nobody was injured in the fire and the damage was minimal.

This was the second barbecue fire that occurred on the same day in Mallorca and the emergency services say to take extra care, especially on windy days, to avoid further accidents.
