An expected 1,709,400 road trips are estimated to take place on Andalusian roads in the coming days.
The Traffic Department expect an excess traffic flow along the roads of the Andalusian region as of yesterday 3:00 pm, right through the following days, ending midnight on Sunday 18.
According to data from the Traffic Department, western Andalusia will be the area with the highest number of road traffic, an estimated total of 974,400 journeys will take place. Whilst in eastern Andalusia the total number of transit will amount to 735,000.
Seville expecting the most influx of visitors followed by Málaga.
Traffic has warned that the swell of traffic is towards the coastal areas, highlighting the importance of avoiding the hours of maximum concentration of traffic on the roads. For today (Thursday) the hours to avoid are, according to the Traffic Department, from 9am to 2 pm. On Friday from 7:00 pm to 9:00. On Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Finally on Sunday, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The Andalusian road with the highest expected traffic intensity will be the A-4, AP-4, N-IV, N-340, AP-46, A-66, A-49, A-92, A-92M, A-7, AP-7, A-45, A-44 and MA-20, as well as the secondary roads which have access to beach locations.
According to statistics, during last years August bank holiday, speeding caused 22% of mortal accidents on the roads.
