A CLIMBER aged 34, thought to be American, died August 14 when he fell near sa Pedrera de Cala d’Hort, in the municipality of Sant Josep on the Spanish island of Ibiza.
According to emergency services, the man was climbing with a partner when the accident happened. Sources say he fell about 25 metres (82 feet).
An off-duty nurse attended to the victim initially before emergency services arrived, but there was nothing that could be done to save the man.
Guardia Civil called for helicopter support to airlift the body away, but decided to recover the victim by land in the end.
Medics, Local Police, Guardia Civil mountain rescuers and firefighters all attended.
