TWO people are being investigated for animal abuse after a puppy was thrown into a river from an eight-metre-high bridge in a Spanish town.
Guardia Civil launched an investigation in Funes (Navarra) after learning that some young people had thrown a dog into the river Arga.
Their investigation led them to the dog’s owner who had allegedly agreed when a friend suggested throwing the three-month-old puppy into the river.
Charges of animal abuse against the two people are expected to be brought. The puppy is recovering and has been adopted by a family in Pamplona.
