The body of a 14-year-old boy has been found in a ravine close to the campsite of La Mola in the village of Espot (Lleida) this morning (Friday).
The parents of the boy reported him missing after they went on a trek through the Pantano de Torrasa without him as it is understood he did not want to go.
Upon return the boy was nowhere to be seen and the emergency services were called.
The search began at around 8pm last night (Thursday) and continued into the night until 4am.
The search resumed this morning with the aid of a police helicopter.
After hours of searching the body of the young boy was found at the bottom of a ravine in a remote part of the area.
The inaccessibility of the area led to the mountain rescue teams to take over the recovery of the body.
The family are of Dutch nationality and were on holiday in the area when the tragedy happened.
