AROUND 40 passengers of a bus had to get out of the vehicle after it caught fire on the Costa del Sol’s AP-7 toll road this morning (Friday).
Emergency services said they were alerted to the blaze at around 10.40am. The bus caught fire at kilometre 200 of the road near the Miraflores area of Calahonda in Mijas.
The fire engulfed the vehicle and a large plume of black smoke could be seen from nearby areas.
Anyone know what is happening at the toll near Calahonda?
Two fire engines were dispatched from Marbella and Mijas to tackle the blaze. None of the passengers, who were said to be Moroccans on the Costa del Sol for a holiday, were injured.
Traffic was not seriously affected and is now said to be running as normal, according to Malaga Province’s Traffic Management Centre.
