THE viral video of a shop employee dumping a fridge over a ravine in the Los Filabres hills has landed the man with a court appearance and a possible prison sentence and hefty fine.

The online video went viral last week of the man hurling the fridge freezer over the Armco and watching it roll down a deep ravine, commenting: “recycling, we’re going to recycle it”.

The man in question was obviously not the smartest tool in the shed as during the video both his face and the licence plate of the vehicle can be clearly seen.

This enabled police to easily track down the offender and he now awaits a court appearance to decide his punishment.

Along with his sentence and possible fine, he was ordered to retrieve the fridge from its final resting place over 200m from the roadside.

His actions have also put his company in the spotlight as the police have reported it to the Junta de Andalusia’s Agriculture, Farming, Fishing and Sustainable Development Almeria Territorial Delegation for not complying to current recycling laws.
