Much loved Cambridge business owner Michael Marshall passes away in Spain

The president of aerospace engineering firm Marshall of Cambridge, Sir Michael Marshall CBE ha spassed away aged 87 whilst on holiday with his family according to a statement released by the company.

The statement read, “On behalf of his family and Marshall of Cambridge, it is with the deepest regret that we confirm the sad news of the death of Sir Michael Marshall CBE DL.

Sir Michael died on Saturday evening, while on holiday in Spain with his wife, Sibyl, and friends.”Marshall of Cambridge was founded in 1909 by his grandfather Sir Arthur Marshall, and was taken over by Michael is 2016 after working for the company for nearly 50 years.

Before that he spent many years in the armed forces and served many high importance roles on the Cambridge board of Council.He was also widely known for his charitable work, acting as president to a number of national charities.

In 1999, he was made a CBE in Queen’s Birthday Honours, before being honoured with a knighthood in the 2010 New Year’s Honours.

Since the news, tributes have been pouring in from his family, friends and colleagues.

Daksh Gupta, group CEO of Marshall Motor Holdings, told local media, “We have lost a great man and we are all very sad today. Our sincere condolences are with Lady Marshall and the whole family.”
