US DIRECTOR Quentin Tarantino has said he wants to visit Almeria and would love to make a spaghetti western-style film there. Tarantino, whose latest film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood has just been released, told Golden Globes he wanted to see the Spanish province. “I would love to go there and see if these places still exist,” Tarantino said in reference to the locations of classic westerns including the Dollar Trilogy and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. “I love the idea of going there and shooting my own version of a spaghetti western in the desert,” the director added. Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which is set in the home of US cinema during the late 1960’s, also pays homage to Almeria which was a leading location for westerns and also for blockbusters such as Lawrence of Arabia.
