Expat fatally stabbed in suspected murder-suicide

A 61-YEAR-OLD expat allegedly murdered his wife before turning the knife on himself at the couple’s home in Calpe. 

According to the Guardia Civil, the body of the 57-year-old victim was found by her daughter. It is believed the attack happened just before 1.30am yesterday morning. 

The couple, of Belgian nationality, married four years ago and lived in Calpe for two years. 

According to reports, the victim suffered a fatal wound to the throat. 

The husband was found with knife wounds, reportedly self-inflicted. 

A minute of silence was held at 12pm yesterday in Calpe, and the local authority declared two days of mourning for the victim. 

An investigation is underway.
