EXCLUSIVE: Hotel Tamisa Golf on the Costa del Sol will close its doors for the last time on Sunday

CONFIRMED: The owner of the hotel has officially confirmed that the hotel will shut on Sunday (June 30).

THE owner of the long-standing Hotel Tamisa Golf on the Costa del Sol has officially confirmed the popular venue will shut on Sunday (June 30).

In a statement, John Peach said: “We have just been notified by our bank and lawyers, that they have placed the Tamisa Hotel into immediate administration, and the banks’ administrators have taken the incredible and unbelievable decision to close the business on June 30 this year.

“Obviously this has come as a complete shock to myself personally and all the Tamisa staff who have to leave the hotel, and we can only apologise unreservedly for the inconvenience this will cause you.

“Our lawyers have pleaded with the lawyers of “Aliseda”, the property arm of Banco Popular/Banco Santander, who forced this decision, to find a way to delay this ruling until at least the end of the summer season, to allow us to cater for all the weddings, bedroom reservations and many events booked at the hotel, but without any success, or compassion shown.

“We have also been advised that all bookings / reservations after this date (June 30, 2019) will no longer be honoured by the administrator and they will not accept any future bookings at the hotel.

Senor Jose Sanchez Medina has been appointed administrator and will resume control of the Tamisa business and accounts with immediate effect. His contact details to reclaim any deposits paid are as follows :

tamigolfconcurso@sanchezmedina.net and the company is www.sanchezmedina.net

“Unfortunately, we now have no control over these actions whatsoever.

“With regards to your wedding plans, we have contacted Kate Lines (professional wedding planner – Fresh Weddings Spain, who is well known and widely respected on the coast) and passed her your details to help organize a change of venue at short notice. She will be in contact. My renewed apologies, John Peach.”
