SHARON Norrie, the lady her colleagues at Bay Radio described as “one of life’s diamonds”, has tragically lost her five-year battle against cervical cancer.
Sharon passed away on Monday evening at the age of just 41, leaving behind daughter Laura.
Sharon was Bay Radio’s commercial director, and was a well-known and much loved figure on the northern Costa Blanca, having previously worked for Blu and Europa Network.
“Smart and funny… you lit up every room you entered”, the Bay Radio team said in a tribute to their dear friend posted on social media.
“You’ve left a huge hole in the Bay family which we will never fill. Thank you for looking after all of us here.”
Sharon’s colleagues also praised “our incredible, beautiful and downright amazing Sharon” for her extraordinary approach to dealing with life’s struggles, saying, “the strength and courage you showed us was incredible.”
Bay Radio has asked listeners to contact them if they would like to request a song in the memory of Sharon or of someone they have recently lost.
Sharon’s longtime friend Iris Hay echoed the sentiments of the Bay Radio team, telling the Euro Weekly News “she was loved by everybody.”
In honour of Sharon, who fought cancer for five years straight and never gave up, her friends and family would like to raise money for the Instituto Valenciano de Oncologia in Valencia, who did everything in their power to overcome this horrible illness that eventually took over her life. The donation will help towards treatment development and investigation to help defeat cancer once and for all.
