Three of Spain’s kitchens are in the top 10 of World’s 50 Best Restaurants

THE RENOWNED parade of global cuisine has put Spanish restaurants at the top three times.

Spain’s highest victory this year was Victor Arguinzoniz’s Asador Etxebarri in Axtondo in the Basque Country at third place after coming 10th last year.

Coming in in seventh place was another Basque star, Andoni Luis Aduriz’s rural restaurant, Mugaritz in San Sebastian.

Last year’s highest new entry was Disfrutar in Barcelona, which went from 18th place up to ninth place this year.

Exceeding the Spanish was Agentintian-Italian chef Mauro Colagreco’s restaurant Mirazur in Menton, France in the latest league of top spots.

A new entry that the crowd thoroughly enjoyed was Danish chef Rene Redzepi. He was awarded second place with his Copenhagen restaurant Noma. His influential ideas within the gastronomy world inspired all.
