A 46 YEAR OLD Brit has been arrested in Malaga for sending inappropriate messages to a woman through a social network on the internet.

The detainee resides in Canada but is being held in Marbella jail under harassment charges. According to the police report the young woman who lives in Marbella had been receiving obscene messages of a highly sexual nature for over six months, two per day on average.

She blocked the accused several times on the social network but he allegedly created new accounts and continued harassing her from a distance.

The sentence for ‘inflicting degrading treatment’ or ‘seriously damaging someone’s moral integrity’ is anywhere between six months and two years according to the European Institute for Gender Equality.

The length of the sentence is primarily based on how long the harassment case has been going on for.

The police report suggests that the accused moved to Marbella in order to pursue his victim and send more messages which created a ‘state of significant anxiety’ for the female.

The man was apprehended at a hostel in Malaga yesterday.
