A six-month police investigation led to a raid on a property being used as a sales point for illegal drugs in Almeria city.

POLICE surveillance of the house in the Chanca neighbourhood of the city revealed different individuals were coming and going at all hours. The double security doors on the property further raised suspicions.

Police reported the outer door was left open to indicate it was open for business, and that one of the rooms was used by clients to consume drugs they had purchased.

Searches of the house and of the home of the couple arrested in the operation netted doses of heroin and cocaine, a shotgun, two air rifles, precision scales and around €2,000 in cash. Police said the pair kept a good part of the drugs in their home, which they shared with their two under-age children.

Electricity company technicians confirmed there were illegal connections to the power supply in both properties.
