A TURTLE is swimming free in its natural habitat again three months after a fishing boat found the creature clearly in a bad way after it got caught up in plastic.

Almeria Guardia Civil officers and members of the Equinac marine life rescue association released Guerrero the Boba turtle back into the sea on Monday following a three-month recovery from its ordeal.

Guerrero’s shell had grown deformed due to a piece of roping having got wrapped round it. Thanks to its stay in the Equinac centre the turtle is fully recovered.
