TRAVEL comparison website TripAdvisor has announced 52 of the most popular parts of Spain for travellers.
The country, which is the second most visited in the world, boasts several natural and cultural heritage sites which made it onto the list.
In first place, and in Andalucia, is the Cabo de Gata Natural Park in Almeria, which is the largest protected area on the Mediterranean coast, The area provides a large variety of flora and fauna, as well as beaches, hidden coves and volcanic cliffs.
Secondly was Playa Victoria in Cadiz, offering three kilometres of beach, while in third place was the Cathedral Mosque of Cordoba. This World Heritage Site boasts 1,300 columns supporting 365 coloured arches, and is considered one of the most important monuments in Spain.
Also featured on the list were the Alhambra, one of Spain’s most visited sites and a Cultural Heritage of Humanity site, as well as the Doñana National Park in Huelva, and he Jaen Arab Baths.
