Experts warn Spanish pollen levels are rising

SPAIN’S recent heavy rains have caused an increase in pollen levels, according to experts.

Officials say the increase could see more allergic reactions in those who suffer from hay fever, following a combination of rain and high temperatures.

Experts are warning of pollen increases in 21 Spanish provinces are recommending allergy sufferers avoid high-pollen areas including parks, and have even suggested wearing masks.  According to officials, forecasted higher temperatures could worsen the issue.

Spain is already registering very high temperatures, with Sevilla reaching 33 degrees.  The northeast of Spain is expecting showers and storms, however.
