A BABY was taken to the La Fe Hospital in Valencia in the early hours of Friday morning (May 17) after he began to have seizures.
The 17 month-old baby’s mother and her partner, who had taken him to A&E, have been arrested after a urine analysis showed traces of cocaine and cannabis in the child’s system.
The baby, who was moved to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, was left in coma.
The National Police opened an investigation into how the substances were ingested by the baby.
The mother and her partner are due to be seen in court after having been detained on charges of abandonment of the minor.
According to Spanish press, the baby is showing progress after medication and intensive care for the last six days.
