MAYOR of Marbella Angeles Muñoz revealed that transport, beaches and first class healthcare are among the Popular Party’s priorities during a special presentation for foreign residents today (Tuesday, May 15).

The Mayor canvassed for non-Spanish votes during a presentation at the Beach House in Elviria ahead of local elections on May 26, and was joined by Alcadia de Las Chapas councillor, Carlos Alcala Belon, and El Rosario urbanisation president, Darren Sands.

She said: “There are around 40,000 foreign people registered in Marbella but the problem is the majority are not so involved in local politics. Only 1,000 non-Spanish people actually do vote but far, far more are actually entitled to.”

Muñoz said PP ensured parking is now free for hospital patients and visitors, that €12 million has been set aside to finish Marbella’s new hospital and there will be a new and bigger health department in Las Chapas with extra doctors and nurses together with a paediatrician. Free transport within Marbella has been introduced and there are plans to improve links further afield.

Darren Sands said: “There are 800 urbanisations in Marbella and the Popular Party wants to support them far more than has been done in the past.

“The main agenda is to move forward and make Marbella shine again.”
